Rodney grew up in northern Illinois but has lived in southern Illinois since 1981, when his dad became a pastor at the First Baptist Church in Ullin, IL. In 1985 Rodney’s dad became pastor of the First Baptist Church in Vienna, IL. where Rodney has made his home ever since.
Rodney is a deacon at the church now and lives in Vienna with his wife Kari Beth and his two children, Chesney and Rex.
Rodney is a graduate of Shawnee Comunity College and Southern Illinois University, where he graduated in 1989. He started in the business with Country Companies and then became an independent agent in 1991. In 1999 Rodney founded Gholson Financial Services and maintains a series 6 & 63 held with LPL Financial.
Rodney enjoys being with his family, reading, and walking the bike trail.
